Coronary Heart Disease

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

Most of the people who are up against the connection between coronary heart disease and smoking are those that have been making money from the cigarette business. They have been thrashing the health effects of cigarette smoking to forward their entrepreneurial ambitions. Economic reasons have made smoking a legal act and an accepted activity even if it has already posted health hazards to the people, both smokers and non-smokers. Coronary heart disease is one of the results of smoking.

There are now many causes that contributed to the onset of coronary heart disease. First is the influence of pop culture as any community tolerates the use of cigarette. This is shown in classic movies and television programs that are proof to the shocking number of cigarette smokers. Shows like the Tonight Show of Johnny Carson and most of the films in the 1930’s and 1940’s would show the many actors that puff cigarettes. One funny situation is the scene shown in the movie The Exorcist. It is in this movie that doctors were shown to have been smoking while doing an examination.

Smoking has then become an accepted part of the culture. Data would show that almost half of the population has been hooked into tobacco. But one consequence of this addiction is the increase of the lung cancer and coronary heart disease cases in the community. This has matched the growing number of smokers in the world which clearly sets the connection between smoking and coronary heart disease.

What has not been so conveyed to the public is the many effects of smoking that bring especially to the respiratory system. Not just harmful to the smoker, but cigarette smoke is actually more dangerous to passive smokers. They are those who do not smoke but simply inhale the smoke released by smokers. They, too, suffer the health hazards like coronary heart disease that smoking brings.

Studies showed that frequent inhalation of smoke would lead to some constriction on the arteries. The blood that flow along these arteries would then be limited and could possibly result to a heart attack.

But even a person who has been hooked into smoking for so many years suffered a very serious situation, he could still get rid of that illness if he would stop and eliminate smoking in his system. This must push everyone to stop smoking and live a healthy lifestyle. Doing a regular exercise and eating the balanced diet would best describe a healthy lifestyle.

Chronic Heart Disease

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

One of the common types of heart is the chronic heart disease that is described as the inability of the heart to function properly. It is then  a must to understand and be aware on how a chronic heart disease is developed in a person.

The chronic heart disease often starts wit some lesions and cracks that  are present in the blood vessel walls. This is the first stage of such disease that is often followed by the body repair which is done by the  filling up of some fatty substances on the lesions and cracks found on the blood vessels.

With these stages, it would be hard for one to easily identify and discover that he has some chronic heart disease. Thus, it would be best to be aware on the different symptoms of chronic heart disease. Observing early symptoms would be very beneficial to the person as this will push  him to seek medical help and have the disease treated as soon as possible. Some of the common symptoms of chronic heart disease are chest pain, weakness, fatigue, palpitations, fainting, and many more. Observing some of these symptoms must then make you go to the doctor and have yourself examined to know if you have such a disease.

Finding some causes of chronic heart disease is also very helpful. Studies claimed that the usage of birth control patch is one of the major causes of this disease that affect women are above thirty years old. It  is claimed that the birth control patch is the cause why women get much  exposure to estrogen. It is also believed that more blood clots happen in persons that use birth control patches. However, women who are  still young and very much healthy are safe to use birth control patch.

This is just one study that could help educate the people on what things or activities to avoid from in order not to develop heart disease in ones body. However, the medical world could not recommend sure and guaranteed ways in order to get rid of this chronic heart disease. But it will not fail anyone if he or she has only been very aware on early signs and symptoms. This way, they would be able to avoid certain activities and food that could lead to the disease and at the same time immediately seek medical help once the doctor has found some symptoms of chronic heart disease.

Diabetes and Heart Disease

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

Two of the common problems faced by aging people are diabetes and heart disease. These diseases often strike in middle age. It is the needed to know the association of diabetes and heart disease and vise-versa.

In order to understand both diabetes and heart disease, it is best to first consider the factors of diabetes as well as its types. The type two diabetes is acquired when the person is having too much weight brought by the food that they eat such as to much junk food and other sugary foods. Anything that contains too much sugar will not just bring in excessive weight to the person but will definitely increases the level of sugar in the blood. This phenomenon would often lead to a Type Two Diabetes.

One similarity of both diabetes and heart disease is its cause which is too much weight gained. Another factor is the person’s genetic history. It is observed that most of the people having diabetes and heart disease do have a family member suffering the same disease. This is the very reason why it is needed to know the health history of his family so as to avoid any high possibility of acquiring the same disease.

Heart disease, on the other hand, usually strikes to people who have Type Two diabetes. Experts have established a clear correlation between diabetes and heart disease. It is believed that a person having diabetes would most likely develop heart disease. The former is brought about by the increased level of cholesterol which is a result of taking in too much fatty food. It is not advised to take in too much fat since it would go to the blood stream. The deposited fat is usually the reason why these arteries clogged up. When the arteries are blocked that would require one to undergo a bypass surgery.

Having accepted the relationship between diabetes and heart disease, anyone should then be aware on how to avoid acquiring a type two diabetes as well as the chance of developing a heart disease. The best way to avoid these diseases is by eating the right food. Healthy food would include those which have low sugar as well as cholesterol. The food taken must be balanced and less in fat. There is nothing wrong eating variety of food as long as they are of balanced diet. Another way of staying healthy is by staying active through regular exercise. A mere walk is helpful enough t make one healthy. Other healthy activities would include jogging, aerobics, and many more. Finally, everything must be done with all moderation.

Exercise and Heart Disease

Friday, October 16th, 2009

Exercise and heart disease are perfect match, experts claimed. Exercising must be done regularly to lower the risk of acquiring or developing heart disease. One need not spend too much time in a day for exercise. But doctors simply require an hour of exercise per day to make one healthy and away from any disease. Contrary to the way most people thinking, tagging exercise as a very time-consuming activity as you need to go to the gym and work out for hours, doctors said that there are other ways of exercising besides going to the gym.

Instead of spending much time sitting on one’s chair or sleeping on the bed, it is more advisable to get up and do some brisk walk even just around a small room. One need not spend money to do that. Exercising is simply doing something that would contract and make the muscles move. The cheapest and the best form of exercise that can be done by anybody is walking. You can do it anytime and anywhere you want to break the monotonous activities you do everyday. Instead of riding a vehicle to go to the next block, you can simply walk. You should find all chances to do an exercise in a day.

Studies showed that walking in the street is healthier than walking  through the treadmill. Thus, one need not have a big amount of money before he could o some exercise. There are so many way of exercising without having to spend a cent. The best part f doing such exercise is the  fact that it can make the heart functions efficiently and prevents acquiring a disease of the heart.

For a person who has been diagnosed with heart disease was usually advised to stop doing exercise as this would threaten the heart. But this has been change through time since medical experts discovered that the best treatment for heart disease is exercise. They have now realized that exercise and heart disease do perfectly match.

This findings was brought about by a study that involved patient having heart disease and how they were able to cope with the disease through regular exercise. It was observed that these patients showed a significant development with their formal exercise program.

The relation between exercise and heart disease was discovered upon the findings that exercise is responsible of a more efficient vascular function of the heart. Doctors believed that exercise improves the health condition of the patients. However, they have been requiring their patient to have their exercise program monitored by the experts.

Cholesterol and Heart Disease

Monday, October 12th, 2009

There is a very clear connection or relation between cholesterol and heart disease. The increase on cholesterol intake would often bring danger to a person’s heart. Often, high cholesterol would lead to the hardening of the arteries and are often geared towards the development of blocked coronary arteries. It must be noted that blocked arteries would bring chest pain and heart attack to the person.

In order to avoid any case of heart disease, it would be best for a person to understand the relation between cholesterol and heart disease. The connection is best established by understanding certain basic information such as the nature of cholesterol. Medical experts describe cholesterol as the fatty substance that can be found in a person’s body. The boy then uses this cholesterol to come up with different kinds of hormones such as the bile acids that are responsible in digesting fat.Nobody can live without cholesterol, however, there are some people who have excessive cholesterol in their body which often lead to many diseases like heart disease.

Having understood this connection, it is then advised to anyone to avoid cholesterol and heart disease problem is for the person to embrace a healthy lifestyle. This may be easy to say, but some people can hardly discipline themselves in eating only the nutritious foods and saying no to the ones which are known to have high cholesterol content.Besides having a healthy diet, one is also advised to do proper physical activities such as any form of exercise.

Avoiding cholesterol and heart disease problem would also entail saying no to the sinful activities like smoking and drinking. Having both in excess may often result to heart disease and other illnesses.

If such cholesterol and heart disease problem are already present in your system, then you are pushed to undergo and strictly follow the medication as prescribed by the doctor. There are now many medicines that are designed to lower the person’s cholesterol level and thus prevent such person to suffer from heart disease.

Having been given medication, the patient must still continue eating a healthy diet and avoiding excessive smoking and drinking as these are major factors in getting rid of this disease. The right medication must be paired with all the other healthy activities like eating, drinking, and smoking in all moderation. People only get to suffer from heart disease later in their life when they have been very insensitive on the needs of their body and how to live healthily.

Child Heart Disease

Monday, October 5th, 2009

A very surprising fact about heart disease is that it can strike in young children. Known as child heart disease, this is one type of heart disease that attacks a very specific age group that includes babies as they are born. These babies are often diagnosed to have a child heart disease symptom when a certain heart murmur is heard.

But what is very dangerous is when a child heart disease is not observed and discovered earlier when the baby was born. But generally, though,a baby can easily be detected to have a child heart disease when observable symptoms come out like blue lips and fingers. Such are brought by a hole in the heart wall which causes blood to travel from one side to another.

Another cause of child heart disease is when the baby has an abnormal heart valve. This situation will often lead to an abnormal blood flow as it would make the blood flow on another direction. Most often, babies having this situation are advised to undergo surgery when they are old enough to experience such an operation. This is a very difficult situation to be handled by an innocent kid as he is expected to feel difficulties in breathing and at the same time they are required to regularly see a specialist for heart disease.

A child heart disease starts with a heart murmur which can be likened to the noise made when water flows through a hose. But medical experts claimed that heart murmur may not be that harmful at all, but it could be a sign of a developing child heart disease. A heart murmur would mean that a certain hole or a small leak is present in the heart valve that makes up such noise.

When a doctor would hear a heart murmur and suspect that the baby might have a child heart disease, the patient is often referred to a pediatric cardiologist who handles and specializes on cases of child heart disease. This specialist would then recommend certain examinations for the child to find out the right medication to give and at the same time suggest the best measure to address such disease. It would be best to trust on the opinion of the specialist as they know better how to deal with this particular patient. It is also very important to have the new-born undergo a heart check-up to easily detect any symptom of heart disease.
