Congestive Heart Disease

A simple heart disease may lead to complication such as a congestive  heart disease. It is brought about when the heart is no longer pumping  the desired amount of blood into the body. Experts also associate  rheumatic fever, when untreated, could most likely lead to a congestive heart  disease.

Some of the symptoms of congestive heart disease would include edema, shortness of breath, kidney problems, and an unexplainable weight gain. Doctors also point increased in blood pressure and abusive intake of  alcohol as potential causes of congestive heart disease. Often, these  symptoms would then cause the heart to work efficiently and often would  lead to further complications that are not just related to heart disease.

It would be easy to determine if a person is suffering from a  congestive heart disease. Those who have had history of any form of heart  disease, even those who have family members suffering from the same disease, and those who are alcoholics are prone to congestive heart disease. When diagnosed with such failure, the patient must then be able to submit  to an operation suggested by the attending doctor. Or this could simply  be addressed through treatment. Part of the treatment is to embrace a  healthy lifestyle that would include eating the right food diet and engaging in a regular physical activity like any form of exercise. Diet is  very much needed in fighting against congestive heart disease since a  person suffering from this must lessen one’s intake of salt and limit  water intake.

All in all, a comprehensive treatment could very well treat congestive  heart disease. This would include diet, healthy physical activities, medication, and recommended operation. There are some effective  treatments for this particular disease. Drugs such as Angiotensin which are  designed to convert enzyme inhibitors are responsible for expanding the  blood vessels and allowing for a freer flow of blood. These drugs are  proven to prevent any case of blood blockage or congestion. Another drug for congestive heart disease is the beta blockers which are responsible  in improving the ventricle pumps in the heart. It is best to take Digitalis to increase the heart pumping and diuretics to get rid of unwanted water and salt inside a person’s body.

This type of disease could come from a wide array of causes and conditions that makes it varied in terms of getting the right treatment. Some  cases would require one to simply focus on one treatment, while some would be required t undergo some operation or major surgery. While some  patients suffering from congestive heart disease are having a normal  lifestyle, some are required to take a lot of rest or undergo a major  heart transplant operation.
